Join us for a day-to-night celebration of global club sounds, community and music’s power to bring people together.
Our HeartBeats is a community-led DJ training and performance platform supporting young people from refugee and displaced backgrounds to explore music as a form of expression, identity and connection.
This event marks the culmination of our latest programme at Southbank Centre. Across six workshops, participants have developed their DJ skills, built confidence and explored their musical identities — and now step onto the stage for their first public performances.
The line-up features:
DJs from our new 2026 cohort performing their debut sets
Alumni artists from previous programme
Special guest DJ
Together, the programme brings a wide range of sounds shaped by different cultural backgrounds, influences and lived experiences — creating a shared space on the dancefloor.
Part of Southbank Centre’s Refugee Week 2026 programme, this event responds to this year’s theme of “Courage” — celebrating creative expression, community and the power of music to challenge narratives.
Our HeartBeats began during Refugee Week 2024 in collaboration with Counterpoints Arts and has since grown into an independent Community Interest Company (CIC), continuing to support emerging artists through workshops, mentoring and performance opportunities.
Come through, connect, and celebrate with us.
